Doris Winchell, of Elcho, died Friday, May 6, 2022, at her home at the age of 89. She was born on July 28, 1932, in Wausau, a daughter of the late William and Victoria (Skarwecki) Kreil. She married Lawrence Winchell on February 2, 1952, in Wausau. He preceded her in death on December 27, 2009.
Doris made homemade candies for Seroogy's Holiday House in DePere from 1964 to 1981.
She rode motorcycle with her husband.
Mrs. Winchell was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Elcho, assisting with funeral dinners for many years.
Survivors include four sons, Steven (Jill) Winchell of DePere, John (Lynn) Winchell of DePere, Jeffry Winchell of Post Lake, and Brian Winchell of Rhinelander; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Marcella and Irene; and a brother, Alfred.
A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, Elcho with Reverend Charles Hoffmann officiating. Burial will take place in Holy Family Cemetery, Elcho. Visitation will be Saturday, June 4 at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass.

"Doris and my mother, Priscilla Olsen,spent much time together involved in church activities, especially the funeral dinners. Priscilla is now in nursing care at The Gables in Random Lake.They surely have many fond memories of time spent together. Kathy and Wally Olejnik"
