"I am thankful for the faithfulness of Phyllis Bonin urging her son Jeff to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with me. When I was in high school, I called her ?Mom Bonin? because she always greeted me warmly and we would often visit in the kitchen as Jeff, and I enjoyed a snack. Through these conversations, she told Jeff that she thought that I was ready to hear God?s plan of salvation. The night before I left for boot camp, Jeff and I raided the fridge in Mom Bonin?s kitchen one last time. Jeff surprised me with a bible, and we talked late into the night. I felt God?s call in my heart, and accepted Jesus as my savior. I left the next morning for Marine Corps Recruit Training. This faithfulness to God?s word led me to accept Christ as my savior, and that faithfulness in God was multiplied many times through my wife and children. I am very thankful for the life, love, and legacy of ?Mom Bonin.? Sincerely, Brian & Jun Herbert "
