In loving memory of

Christopher Hengst
November 19, 1975 - May 24, 2022

Christopher "Chris" Hengst, of Madison, passed away at age 46. Chris worked for years in demolition and enjoyed working on cars. He attended Madison College and UW-Madison in pursuit of a degree in Chemical Engineering. Chris enjoyed woodworking, painting, and anything that got his hands dirty. He enjoyed the outdoors and being one with nature. Above all, even though he couldn't always be there, he enjoyed spending time with his sons. In spite of struggling with mental illness and addiction, he loved his family more than anything.

Chris is survived by his parents, Melvin & Virginia (Smith) Hengst; his brothers, Michael (Teresa) Hengst & Frederick (Lisa) Hengst; his former spouse, Heather Hengst (Warren); his sons, Christopher, Braiden, Jasper, & Peyton; his nieces, Brittany, Adrianna, & Abigail; and several uncles, aunts, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents; his Uncle Jerry; Aunt Sue; Cousin Billy; and Aunt Susan.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to go to Chris's four boys, of whom he was so proud. Checks can be made payable to:
