Deborah Sue Zimmerman, 73, of St. Clair Shores, passed away peacefully Friday, June 3, 2022, surrounded by her daughters.

A homemaker, her interests included gardening, horses and equestrian events, and above all, nurturing her family.
Debby was a deeply devoted mother, adoring grandmother, and loyal friend. She was a constant and tireless supporter of her four daughters, cheering their accomplishments fiercely and helping to guide them through life's twists and turns.
She loved cocktail hour in Old Mission, watching the sun set over West Bay from the porch of the home her grandparents built.

Straub Jr., she is survived by her daughters, Bracken Gustin (Andrew), Rush Zimmerman, Phoebe Zimmerman, and Hillary Wrosch (Drew); grandchildren, Spencer Gustin and Calvin Gustin; sister, Sarah Straub; brother, Michael Straub (Mariann); niece, Katie Straub; and nephew, Peter Straub. She also had been eagerly awaiting the expected birth in July of her third grandchild, Zimmer Wrosch.

"I am so very saddened by Debbie?s passing. What a beautiful, joyous and hilarious friend who always was so supportive and complimentary. When we attended Northwood together, she was ?so cool? and it continued in all the years I knew her. There was nothing more important to Debbie than her beloved family. He girls and grandchildren were her life. Then there were her treasured friends. The Walloon crowd, who gathered annually and were so close, will never be the same, I am certain. What joy and humor she always brought.
Then, there was her beauty, one of those gals who thankfully, never let her standards down. She was stellar. Blessings and prayers of comfort to her beloved family and please know we are all with you in your grief."

"We are so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers. I have so many wonderful memories of the Zimmerman family at the hockey rink and car trips to tournaments. Throughout the years and decades, we played together in Grosse Pointe Hockey and then Team Michigan followed by playing against Rush in college. Much love to you all. Our sincerest condolences, from Suzanne McGoey. "

"Our sincere condolences to the Zimmerman family...fond memories of our hockey trips while at Shattuck...especially the night, after more than a year of traveling to watch the girls, Deb accidentally found out that I played hockey one summer with Bucky...a revelation moment. The following weekend trip, she brought some old photos and there I was, a young kid, sitting in the locker room with Bucky. We traded stories about how Bucky was injured in a freak off-ice incident and his Dad flew up to BC to bring him home for surgery. I still get chills when I think of Debbie and my conversation. She was in tears as she seemed to come to some kind of closure with her brothers past. Patty and I often talk about that time of our lives when we met and became friends of the Zimmerman family...much love to you Zimmerman girls from Chuck & Patty"
