Rev. Joseph V. Jurkowski
May 1, 1933 - June 5, 2022

Reverend Joseph Victor Jurkowski, 89, a priest of the Diocese of Camden, passed away on June 5, 2022.

Father Jurkowski was born on May 1, 1933 in Dęba, Poland. He attended The Catholic University in Lublin, Poland achieving a Master Degree in Psychology. He was ordained there on July 1, 1958 and was a member of the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin, Warsaw Province. He lectured at the Major Seminary and was the Director of Vocations and a parochial vicar in various parishes. In 1984, Fr. Jurkowski came to the United States to offer his priestly ministry with the Polish Capuchins. In 1996 Father Jurkowski was incardinated in the Diocese of Camden. He served as a parochial vicar at several parishes including Saint Michael Parish, Gibbstown and Saint Nicholas of Tolentine, Atlantic City. He retired in 2014.

Father Jurkowski was predeceased by his parents, Zofia and Jan and his siblings Wacław, Stanisław, Tadeusz, Antoni and Leon. He is survived by his loving family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 10 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Parish of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Saint Joseph Church, 1010 Liberty Street, Camden, New Jersey.

The Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow the viewing at 10:30 AM.

Burial is at Saint Joseph Cemetery, 240 Lower Landing Road, Chews, Camden County, New Jersey, 08012.
