MUSCATINE, Iowa -Herma Jansen, 91, of Muscatine, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022, at Muscatine UnityPoint Hospital.

A private family service will be at a later date. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Susan B. Komen for the cure. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.


Herma was born on September 21, 1930, in Hazard, Kentucky, the daughter of Elijah and Martha Dobbs Robinson. She married Robert D. Jansen on August 4, 1950, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He preceded her in death in 2016.

Herma was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening. She belonged to the Muscatine Community Y. She liked swimming, especially water aerobics. Herma loved her family and cherished seeing her husband full of joy.

She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Jan Lindle and her husband Richard, Karen Weggen of Texas, and Sharen Ingram and her husband, Wayne, of Peoria; grandchildren, Michelle Fields and her husband, Mike, Melissa Weggen, Miranda Aberg and her husband, James, Rebecca Weggen, and Samuel Ingram and his wife, Emma; and 12 great grandchildren.

Herma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; her son in law, Michael Weggen; and eight brothers and sisters.
