"Dear Carol & family, My deepest sympathies to you and your family. Bob was a sweetheart and I will surely miss him and his smile at Cardinal Village, especially at Bingo! He was a real fun guy and I know he is resting with Our Lord in Heaven. He was one of my favorites. God bless you and may He give you strength through this difficult time. "Uncle Bob was one of my favorite uncles, and I am blessed with fond memories of when he and Aunt Carol would visit us in Cincinnati. When I was a child, and when it was time for him, Aunt Carol, Bob and Terri to get an early start back to New Jersey, he would come up to our bedrooms to tell us goodbye. I would pretend to be sleeping, feeling very sad about what was about to happen. After he quietly said goodbye and left the room, I?d cry and cry and cry (of course, under my covers, as to avoid the risk of anyone seeing me). Hearing this news this morning, I?m experiencing those same emotions. He and my dad (Uncle Bob?s younger brother) had a special relationship, and I am certain that they are embracing in heaven right now, basking in the light of our Savior. May God bless his soul, Aunt Carol, their family, and all those that love him. All of our love, prayers and sincerest condolences, Sharon and Dave Hoesl"

"We are so very sorry for the loss of your beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Ryan and I are grateful to have met him. We appreciated his kind, enthusiastic, and loving spirit. He was so lucky to be loved by all of you and you by him. He leaves a wonderful legacy of accomplishments, but, above all, his greatest accomplishment is the love and dedication to family that he has instilled in all of you. It is a rare gift and a huge blessing. His light will continue to shine because it is so powerful and evident within your family through your kindness, graciousness, and service to others. Sending condolences and love, -Maja, Ryan, August, Borka, and Kasim "
