Khounmy Sengthongphet, 91, of St. Charles passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones on Monday (July 18, 2022).
She was born on September 6, 1930 in Attapeu, Laos. She was a loving homemaker who took pride in caring for her children and grandchildren. She was the wife of Onekeo Sengthongphet and the mother of 5 children. In 1979 they immigrated to the United states. They lived in Philadelphia and California before permanently residing in St. Charles.
Her precious moments were spent with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, thrift shopping, long phone conversations with friends, and watching Lao soap operas. She was selfless, boisterous, witty, and extremely resilient.
She is survived by; her two sons, Inpun (Anoumon) Sengthongphet and Khongchay (Khoonmany) Sengthongphet, two daughters, Phouvanh (Bounmy) Xayaosa and Phouvone (Phongsaly) Tonphanith, 21 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and 4 great, great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Onekeo Sengthongphet and her daughter, Phouvong.
Funeral Service will be held at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home on Sunday July 24,2022 at 1:00pm.
