Jeanette Kamps
October 19, 1929 - July 26, 2022
Jeanette Kamps, of Antigo, died Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at The Bay at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 92. She was born on October 19, 1929, in White Lake, a daughter of the late Fred and Olga (Walz) Gross. She married Jerome Kamps on October 21, 1950, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Phlox. He preceded her in death on February 23, 2022, after 71 years of marriage.
She was a graduate of White Lake High School, class of 1947.
Mrs. Kamps worked at McLellan's Dime Store for five years. She then worked with the Peace Lutheran School Lunch Program for 23 years retiring in 1986.
She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.
Jeanette enjoyed shopping, playing cards, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Gary (Debbie) Kamps, and a daughter, Sandra (Bill) Zimmerman all of Antigo; four grandchildren, Christopher Kamps, Casey (Jessica) Kamps, Becky (Kevin) Stank, and Adam (Laurie) Zimmerman; eight great-grandchildren, Matthew (Gabby), Alex, Elli, Breelyn, Kiara, Zak, Zander, and Braxton.
In addition to her husband and parents; she was preceded in death by brothers, Fred and Richard Gross; and a sister, Nancy Johnson.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church with Rev. Dan Kohn officiating. Burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday at the church from 9:30 to 11 a.m.
