Ethel Irene Nathan
May 18, 1939 - July 31, 2022

Ethel Irene Nathan, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022. She was born on May 18,1939, in Brooklyn, New York.

She was the second child of Hyman and Ethel Levinson. She attended school in New York before later moving to Texas. She married William Nathan in New York City, then moved to San Antonio, TX, and finally to Houston, Texas where she raised her 3 children. She was a devoted mother who loved the beach, the rodeo, the circus, and most of all interacting and playing with her kids. While raising her children, Ethel went back to school and received top honors upon graduating nursing school. She worked at Seven Acres, Jewish Home for the Aged for 20 years. Caring for the elderly was her passion and her patience and care for her residents was greatly appreciated by the relatives of her patients. Health issues forced her retirement upon which time she joyfully helped raise her many grandchildren. When health issues worsened she came to live at Seven Acres herself where she spent the last years of her life.

Ethel was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Nathan, and her son Jeffrey Nathan. She is survived by her brother, Stanley Levinson; her son, Howard; daughter, Debra and her husband Kevin; grandchildren, Natalie, David, Zachary, Ellen, Braden, Brian and Matthew.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Beth Israel Memorial Garden, 1101 Antione St. Houston, TX 77055.
