Loretta Clara Holup, of Antigo, died Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center. She was 98 years old. She was born on March 22, 1924, in Antigo, a daughter of the late John and Mary (Bertzel) Wield. She married Edmund Holup on October 18, 1941, in Sheboygan Falls. He preceded her in death on May 21, 2011.
Loretta was employed as a CNA at Superior Nursing Home until retirement in 1975.
She enjoyed crocheting and playing cribbage. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Loretta was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Antigo.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Nolan of Milwaukee, Catherine (Michael) Prins-Hubatch of Antigo, and Connie Powell of Antigo; two sisters, Irene (Jim) Patterson of Menomonee Falls and Clara Bemis of Stoughton; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra (Ray) Hubatch; son, Ronald Holup; sons-in-law, Thomas Prins, Gary Powell, Ray Hubatch, and Robert Nolan; sisters, Ann Hubatch, Virginia Koszarek, Rose Menting, Mary Schedlbauer; and brothers, Rudy Wield, Joe Wield, Clarence Wield, and Jack Wield.
A private service will take place at a later date.
