In loving memory of

Stephen Leroy Beals
January 17, 1940 - August 4, 2022

We are sad to announce the passing of Stephen Leroy Beals. He died from a long
and courageous battle with cancer, on Thursday August 4, 2022, at the age of 82.
He was born in North Muskegon on January 17, 1940. He grew up in a very large
family of 13 siblings.
Stephen became a dedicated servant of Jehovah on February 2, 1975. He served
faithfully until his death. He was full of humor and had an uncanny ability to
make stories of his youth come alive. Everyone loved to listen to the "Storyteller."
Stephen was a hard worker for his family and anyone that needed assistance. He
truly had a self-sacrificing spirit. Stephen was the real "Jack of all trades but
master of none (or most)." He could build anything from scrap metal. Stephen
could look at a trailer or wood splitter and build it without any blueprints. Over
his life he built numerous race cars, trailers, wood splitters and hydraulic dump
trailer. Stephen was a fabricating/mechanical genius and inspiration to all that
knew him. He loved to watch Football, Baseball and girls Softball. His favorite
however was Nascar racing. When Stephen was younger, he also loved to fish and
hunt.
Stephen married the love of his life Margaret (Peggy) Jane Sherwood on
December 30, 1958, in North Muskegon. Together they had 5 daughters: Diana,
Lori, Stefanie, Ann (Willie), Sara, 9 grandchildren, 3 grandfurbabies, 18 great-
grandchildren, and 1 great great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his
Father (Ernie), Mother (Thelma), Daughter (Lori), Brother (Mike), Brother
(Clarence), Sister (Cindy), Brother (Lester).
Funeral and memorial will be announced later.
