Mrs. Muriel Ann Mills, age 87, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2022. She was born in Duluth, MN on October 4, 1934 to Stanley & Kathryn Sipniewski. and later married Joseph L. Mills on December 27, 1952, in Sault St. Marie, Michigan. Joseph L. preceded her in death on July 30, 2014. She was also predeceased by her parents Stanley Sr. and Kathryn Sipniewski, two sisters Sandra Chamberlain and Kathryn Alexander (Glen McFadden), her in-laws JC and Ruby Mills.

Muriel retired after 28 years in food service at Fruitport High School. She was a member of St. Mary's Women's Club and a life member of the Ladies VFW in Fruitport, Auxiliary 3734. She was an avid bird watcher, gardener, and she loved to care for the birds and feral cats in her neighborhood. She was known for her caring disposition, willingness to help others, and her practical approach to all things.

SURVIVORS
She is survived by: son Joseph S. Mills (Deb Young), grandchildren Shanna Zimmer (Jack), Shawn O'Neil (Amy Thompson), and two great grandchildren, Benjamin and Carolyn Zimmer. Sisters: Vicky Dragiewicz (Walter, deceased), Phyllis Pehrson (Charles, deceased), and brother Stanley Sipniewski (Dianne), and sister-in-law Diane Mills (Patrick, deceased), brother-in-law Jerry Mills, as well as many other loved family members, nieces and nephews, and special friends. According to her wishes, no funeral service will be held. She will be interred in Sault Ste. Marie, MI.
