Linda Sue Protokowicz
June 3, 1949 - August 11, 2022

Linda Sue Protokowicz, of Antigo, died Thursday, August 11, 2022, at Crossroads of Weyawega. She was 73 years old. She was born on June 3, 1949, in Ashland, a daughter of the late John and Edna (Pennebecker) Whalen. She married Richard Protokowicz on June 13, 1970, in Cable, Wisconsin

Linda was a kind friendly person who always did the right thing.

She graduated from Ashland County Teachers College and taught several grades for three years in Bruce, Wisconsin. Upon moving to Antigo she was a Teachers Aide for the Unified School District of Antigo.

At 73 years old she was taken way too early to complications from multiple diseases that she fought for several years.

In addition to her husband, Rich; she is survived by a son, Matthew Protokowicz of Sarasota, Fla; three sisters, Shelia (Jim) Stilin of Rhinelander, Patricia (Larry) Kruzan of Highbridge and Barbara Brown of Rhinelander; and a brother, John Whalen of Mellen.

Her family and Antigo friends will miss her dearly. The world has lost a genuine, compassionate person.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, John Brown.

She was extremely gifted in meeting the needs of the students she worked with.
