In loving memory of

Joyce Elizabeth Damiano
June 13, 1937 - August 12, 2022

Mother, grandma, sister, aunt and wife, Joyce Elizabeth Damiano (Borter), passed away on August 12th 2022. Throughout her life she was a fighter and selfless giver.

Born in Boise Creek and raised in the beautiful nearby community of Buckley, Washington, she wore her rugged upbringing as a badge of honor. The fresh air, trees, mountains and rivers carved their influence on her soul and she never wavered from those roots. Her face glowed when asked about her childhood and growing up with her sisters, Virginia and Judy. The three sisters were raised by Lee and Linnea Borter, two of the most special people to ever walk this planet.

Joyce worked in accounting, hospital administration and was a small business owner, but her highest dedication was to her family. She would unfailingly drop everything to be there for those she loved. Husband Frank (big Frank) and her three sons, Frank Jr., (little Frank), David and Todd, are blessed with countless memories. Granddaughter Lily and grandson Jamison were the focus of her attention in the latter years. She smothered them with love, all the while allowing them the freedom to be themselves and just be kids. Joyce never stood still. She viewed life as a true adventure and never stopped pushing forward and peaking around that next corner. She could start a raging fire, be comforted by the warmth and run from the heat all within the same day!

She fought bravely through the last difficult months of cancer treatments, doing her best to comfort those she loved while deflecting her own worries and pain.

She will be missed terribly by all who knew and loved her. Her desire to help and comfort anyone in need set the bar very high for us all to follow. All of this.... rolled up into "Joyce": mother, grandma, sister, aunt and wife. The memories we all share are a testament to her passion for life. Rest now. Rest in peace. It is well earned.
