"Ron, please accept my sympathy for the loss of your lovely wife. When I was living in Ames I overheard some ladies talking about activities of concern at one of the Ames schools. One of the women spoke up to say, "Thank goodness we don't have to worry about that happening at our school. Kay Bartlett would stop it before it even got started!" "

"I am saddened to learn of Kay's passing. I remember when I first qualified for the golf team at Ames High. At the time I was an underclassman and did not know many older kids. Kay ensured that I became friends with all of the upperclassmen on the team and they looked out for me. Her encouragement led to better golf and, more importantly, lasting friendships. I am forever grateful for her attention and care. My thoughts are with you, Ron, and your family. "
