Alexander Esso Gomah
June 4, 1955 - August 19, 2022

Alexander Esso Gomah, Founder and Creative Director of Diamond View Detroit, passed away on August 19, 2022 at the age of 67.
Alex was born in Detroit on June 4, 1955 to Easel Gomah and Hildegard Kosack (nee Amesreiter). His mother, stepfather, Bruno Kosak, and his sisters Gloria and Sonja lived in Grosse Pointe where he attended Grosse Pointe South High School. Upon graduation, he went to Wayne State University and the Grafing Institute, receiving a Bachelor's degree in Romance and Germanic Language and Literature.
His career at Xerox spanned 38 years. His responsibilities were vast, including complex business model analysis and process engagement across multiple organizations across the US. Counsel Headquarters Senior executives and VPs to mitigate organizational risks and preparation of quarterly Sarbanes-Oxley collaterals.
He made many long-lasting relationships with his fellow Xerox colleagues. They always scheduled annual get-togethers which meant the world to him.

After retiring from Xerox, Alex volunteered to work with the Albert Kahn Legacy Foundation. He found a kindred spirit in Albert Kahn being a fellow German. Growing up in Grosse Pointe he was very familiar with many of the homes designed by Kahn.

Alex started his own company in 2016 called Diamond-View which created a vision of Detroit through its architecture in postcards and note cards.
Alex had so many cherished friendships that made his life full. He had that special and unique talent to be able to talk to anyone about anything. He was genuine in his ability to discuss any topic and truly be interested in what a person had to say.
He is survived by his sisters Sonja and Gloria Gomah.
A memorial gathering will take place on Wednesday, September 14th from 1pm until the time of the service 4pm at Chas. Verheyden, Inc., 16300 Mack Ave., Grosse Pointe Park.

"I met Alex over 40 years ago. He was my husband?s high school friend. Amazing when I think about the years we all spent together as life presented its many changes, challenges and opportunities. During those years, I could for certain always count on Alex to be there for Sunny, our two children (Alex and Lyndsey) and me. We in turn celebrated with him as a family all holidays, birthdays snd every other celebration of life. He always came on time, with flowers for me, a heart full of love, a readiness to have a good time and the ability to talk about anything with anyone. He gave us so much love, respect and support. We are truly blessed to have him in our lives all these years. He indeed had a profound affect on us all, Frankly I cannot imagine him not being here as we carry on. Rest in peace and glory dear one! Love, Theresa Spilos "
