In loving memory of

Jerry Remington
July 29, 1941 - August 30, 2022

Jerry Remington, a longtime businessman, died Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center in Antigo. He was 81 years old. He was born on July 29, 1941, in Antigo, a son of Elwyn and Lillian (Heller) Remington.

He was a graduate of Birnamwood High School. Following high school, he went to Madison and received a degree in business.

Jerry served in the Wisconsin Army National Guard and was called to duty in 1961 to Fort Lewis, Washington. Jerry came back to Birnamwood in 1964 and started Birnamwood Oil Company with his father, Al, which was later renamed Remington Oil and expanded to Remington Motors.

In the late 1980s, Jerry started Antigo Yamaha with Joe Yakey and TJ Sport and Ski with Tim Young. Jerry and his son, JP, have worked side-by-side for 32 years.

Jerry had a passion for business adventures, working too hard, and used cars. The words often coming out of Jerry's mouth were "Fuel is our game". He enjoyed going to car auctions, attending sporting events for his grandchildren, and supporting JP's racing career and VP Racing Fuels.

Survivors include a son, JP Remington of Antigo; a daughter, Nikki (Tom) Heinzen of Antigo; six grandchildren, Erika, Alex, Sydnie and Baily Heinzen, Ryker and Brinlee Remington; two ex-wives, Gail Remington and Donna Remington; his little buddy, Rudy; and all his employees that he saw as family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Judy (Charlie) Melzer; and best friend, Monty Krueger.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 10, at 11 a.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Reverend Dan Kohn officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service all at the funeral home.
