Mary Medo, age 98 of Bayside, died Monday, September 12, 2022, at Aurora Hospital in Grafton. She was born on October 9, 1923, in the Town of Polar, a daughter of Jordan and Hermina (Paulen) Medo.
She was a graduate of Antigo High School. Mary was a teacher at the Marquette University School of Dentistry. She was also a dance instructor for Arthur Murray Studio in Milwaukee.
Mary was an avid bird watcher. She was active with the Italian Community Center and SOKOL (a group celebrating Czech-Slovak Culture).
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Anne (Larry Bower) Medo of River Hills; a son, James (Darlene) Pomasl of Salem, OR; two grandchildren, James Pomasl and Lisa Berg; and five great-grandchildren, Sarah, Lauren, Monica, Kevin, and Jason. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Anna Selmo and Evelyn Arneson; and five brothers, Otto, George, Edward, Joseph, and Daniel.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Entombment will take place at Queen of Peace Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday at the church in Hoffmann Hall from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
