Jane Garesché McMullen died peacefully on September 11, 2022 at the age of 97. Known as Judy, she was born on September 1, 1925, in St. Louis, Missouri to Grace and A. Rowe Garesché. She attended Villa Duschesne School followed by the National College of Education in Evanston, Illinois and became a kindergarten teacher at City House in St. Louis. In 1955, she married George R. McMullen and moved to Grosse Pointe, Michigan, a place that quickly became home to her. Throughout the years, she enjoyed volunteering with many different organizations, including the Junior Leagues of St. Louis and Detroit. Along with her love of friends and family, she loved her cottage and summers spent at Pointe aux Barques, Michigan. She devoted much of her time and energy to serving on the Board and various committees.
Judy will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and universal appeal to people of all ages. She was predeceased by her husband, George, sisters Punch Collins and Marie Garesché, FMM, and her son George, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Alexandra McCann, son-in-law Franklin McCann, granddaughter Alison McCann and great grandson Connor Kaprielian.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 24, 2022, at the Bon Secours Chapel at Beaumont Hospital - 468 Cadieux Road, Grosse Pointe, Michigan. Masks required.
