Bonnie Adkins
March 24, 1954 - September 16, 2022

BONNIE R. ADKINS
MUSCATINE, Iowa - Bonnie Alice Riepe Adkins was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left her earthly home on September 16, 2022, at the age of 68.

Her Celebration of Life is scheduled from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at the Rendezvous Banquet Facility located at 3127 Lucas Street in Muscatine, Iowa. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your local animal rescue group or the Alzheimer's Association. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Bonnie proudly earned her master's degree in Speech Pathology from the University of Northern Iowa. She served the Area Education Agency as an educational Speech Pathologist for more than 30 years. Bonnie worked every day of her life to make a positive impact on those who surrounded her.

Her passion to care for and make a difference in people's lives extend far beyond her career. Bonnie was endlessly committed to bringing comfort to those in need, providing for those who had less and making people feel loved and important. Bonnie was known for her ability to make anyone welcome and comfortable in her home, whether they were friends, family, or political candidates.

Her caring was matched by her stubbornness! Bonnie may have well set the example of will- power and conviction. When the woman knew what she wanted or believed in something, there was no stopping her, especially in her dedication to politics and the democratic party. She was passionate about making a difference and changing the world for all.

Some of Bonnie's proudest accomplishments included a personal invitation to the White House by former President Barack Obama, her significant environmental policy changes through her efforts with Clean Air Muscatine and her tireless work to pass the Affordable Care Act.

Bonnie is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Paul Adkins, her two daughters Jayme Ironside (Jacob) and Sarah Brumwell (Corbin); her grandchildren Ava, Henry, Harper, and Brynlee. Bonnie is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Bonnie is preceded in death by her mother and father, Donna (Mousley) and Lloyd Riepe, her father and mother-in-law Glen and Rosemary (Park) Adkins, her sister Elizabeth Randleman and sister in-law Susan (Rogers) Adkins.

A special thank you to the dedicated staff at Bickford and UnityPoint Hospice for caring for Bonnie at the end of her life.
