In loving memory of

Christopher R. Saucier
January 18, 1977 - September 16, 2022

Christopher R. Saucier, age 45, passed away surrounded by his family on September 16, 2022.

Chris was born January 18, 1977, in Grosse Pointe Farms. He graduated from De La Salle before continuing his education at University of Detroit Mercy where he received a bachelor's degree. Chris met the love of his life, Heidi, by chance over 20 years ago when they both signed up for a volunteer overtime shift where they both worked. The chance meeting started an adventure of a lifetime that led to a 10-year marriage and their beloved son, Nathaniel. Chris was an avid sports fan, especially of the Detroit Pistons. He enjoyed gaming and films and had an affinity for the horror genre. Chris was also a talented writer and in the past year achieved a personal goal of finishing his own screen play.

Christopher's true calling in life was being a loving and active father; he loved being a dad to Nathaniel and Nathaniel loved having him as a dad. They spent countless hours playing tee ball and basketball together and walking anywhere Nathaniel asked him to go.

Chris will be remembered as an amazing person who showed genuine interest and concern for the people around him and for his desire to help others where he could. He showed this throughout his life until the very end, when the family discovered he signed up to be a registered donor and he was able to give the "gift of life" to others by being an organ donor.

Cherished husband of Heidi Saucier. Beloved father of Nathaniel Saucier. Loving son and son-in-law of Raymond Saucier, Joanne Saucier, Pamela (Louis) Matteson, and John Dominski. Chris is also survived by many dear aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Visitation for Chris will take place Friday, September 23, 2022, from 2-8 pm with Rosary at 7 pm at Chas. Verheyden, Inc., 16300 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Park. Funeral Mass Saturday, September 24, 2022, instate at 10:30 am until time of mass, 11 am at St. Clare of Montefalco, 1401 Whittier Rd, Grosse Pointe Park, the service will be live streamed at https://stclarem.org/. The family asks that you please wear masks to all services. Memorial contributions to De La Salle Collegiate, PIME Missionaries, or Gift of Life Michigan are appreciated.

"Joanne - Our hearts are heavy for your family. As you know, my brother, and my sister's two sons died in traffic accidents. My sister's daughter died earlier this year at 34. Both my Mom and my sister said one of the hardest things to do is to bury a child...it doesn't matter the age; you birthed him, gave him a background of love, faith and caring. The description of his relationship with Nathaniel demonstrates how well you did your job as "Mom". May God hold all of you close during this very difficult time. Love, Denis and Annette (Bartkowiak) Lynch "
