Ann E. Collins
April 12, 1951 - September 28, 2022

Ann E. Collins "(Scheide)" died on September 28, 2022. She was born on April 12, 1951, in Red Wing, Minnesota, to Lloyd and Doris (Stockwell) Scheide. The Scheide family moved from Ellsworth, Wisconsin to Mount Horeb in 1960. After graduation from Mount Horeb High School, Ann took classes at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She worked for the UW in many departments on campus over the years. Ann married Michael C. Collins on October 13, 1990. She retired in 2010 from her position in Audience and Member Services at Wisconsin Public Television and Radio.

Ann valued her family and wide circle of friends. She loved to entertain. Ann was an avid reader of fiction and closely followed state, national and world news. She loved to discuss current affairs and articulately expressed her views. Over 20 years ago, Ann and Mike became proud owners of what would be the first of several Cardigan Welsh Corgis. The dogs brought much joy to Ann. She also enjoyed bowling, flower gardening, and decorating indoors and out for Christmas.

Ann is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Michael Collins; siblings Lloyd "Peter" (Jenny) Scheide of Stevens Point, John Scheide and James (Mary) Scheide of Madison, Patricia (Ronald) Anderson of Cable and Lawrence Scheide of Peculiar, MO. She is also survived by nephews Ryan (Amy) Scheide of Wisconsin Rapids, Erik (Brenda) Anderson of St. Petersburg, FL, Ian (Christina) Anderson of Madison, nieces Rachel Scheide and Leah (Justin) Scheide of Madison, as well as several great nephews and great nieces.

Private interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery. A Celebration of Life to honor Ann will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Schwoegler's, 444 Grand Canyon Drive, Madison. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Dane County Humane Society or Wisconsin Public Television.
