LINDA S. JOHNSON
MUSCATINE, Iowa - Linda S. Johnson, 65, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 5, 2022, at her home.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Muscatine Humane Society.

Linda was born on March 6, 1957, in Muscatine, the daughter of Robert and Florence Schaffer Metcalf. She married Michael Johnson on November 15, 1980, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church.

Linda was a graduate of Marycrest College in Davenport, earning her paralegal degree. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, and played the bells there. She was active volunteering in the community as well, giving her time to Window Box, Impact Life Blood Center, and the Salvation Army as a bell ringer. In her free time, she enjoyed square dancing, yard sales, camping, showing quarter horses when she was younger, and has had lunch dates with her old high school friends since 1975. She enjoyed traveling, including Yellowstone National Park, and going on enough cruises to be an Emerald Level traveler.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Michael; her cats, Tanner and Sylvia; siblings, Pam Lane, Mike Young, and Barb young; cousins, Bob Viner and his wife, Judy, Jude Mungor, Jeannine Sarmiento, June Hurdle, and Jim Viner; and her best friend, Jan Phillips.

"Our prayers are with you, Mike and family. Linda was my role model ever since childhood. We loved spending time together at family and pony-related events. She was a few years older so I always wanted to be like her when I made it to high school, college and adulthood. She and Mike always welcomed my husband and me into their home, and had a lot of conversations and laughs together. She was an animal lover, and treated pets with extra love and care. She contributed her talents to Muscatine County during her many working years in her career. She had a warm heart and positive words for her friends, both old and new. Linda, you are loved, and we thank God for your beautiful life. "
