Aloysius R. Muench
December 11, 1931 - December 16, 2022

Aloysius R. Muench, of Pelican Lake, died Friday, December 16, 2022. Born in Antigo in 1931, he celebrated his 91st birthday with his family on December 11. Al was the youngest son of Frank and Frances (Kohler) Muench. Al was married to Shirley Schuttenberg for 65 years. She preceded him in death on June 25, 2022.

After graduating from Antigo High School in 1950, Al served in the United States Army. He belonged to the Leland Tollefson Veterans of Foreign War Post 2653, Antigo.

Al was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, and, with Shirley, they happily moved back north to the lake when he retired in 1990. Although Al's career included working at all five Milwaukee Breweries, he retired from Miller Brewery after over 38 years of service.

Survivors include two daughters, Karen Perlewitz of Waukesha and Kathy Muench of West Allis; seven grandchildren, Mark Perlewitz Jr., Michael Perlewitz, Jenny (Ryan) McQuillan, Alan Muench, Andy Muench, Katie Muench, and Julia Muench; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley Muench; sons, Alan and Jeffrey Muench; sisters, Esther Bera, Clara Pesl, Marie Kolz, Lorraine Mundt, and Bernadine Walker; brothers, Clayton Muench, Frank Muench, Jr., and Clarence Muench.

Following Al's wishes, no services will be held.

The family would like to thank Family Matters Senior Homecare Services who provided at-home care to Al over the past six months.
