In loving memory of

Richard A. Wiegert
February 23, 1963 - December 29, 2022

Richard A. "Rich" Wiegert, of Deerbrook, died unexpectedly on December 29, 2022, at Aspirus Langlade Hospital. He was born on February 23, 1963, in Antigo, a son of Mary (Rabe) Wiegert of Antigo and the late Terrance Wiegert. He married the love of his life, Jacqueline Pomasl, on August 23, 1986, at St. Wencel Catholic Church in Neva.

He attended St. Hyacinth Catholic grade school and was a Class of 1981 graduate of Antigo High School.

Rich spent 25 years working at Duffek's Sand & Gravel and County Materials as a dispatcher. Most recently, Rich owned and operated, Wiegs Manufacturing in Neva, along with his brothers.

Currently, he was serving on the Langlade County Board and a supervisor for the Town of Peck.

He was a jack of all trades (a go to fix-it guy) and used that ability to consistently pay it forward. His best attribute was being a connector and always making everyone feel like they were the highest priority. His generosity continues in life through his gift as an organ donor.

Rich had a zest for life with numerous hobbies and interests. Some of these include thinking he was John Wayne, critiquing Green Bay Packers players and helping control the red squirrel population.

Survivors include his mother, Mary; wife, Jackie; three children, Marcus (Nicole) Wiegert of Fond du Lac, Matthew (Karissa) Wiegert of Weston and Michelle (fiancé Nathan Smith) Wiegert of Aniwa; six grandchildren, Jahara Posey, Annabelle Smith, Lenora Servi, Parker Smith, Harper Wiegert, and Lincoln Richard Smith; three brothers, Bob (Dawn) Pogue of Tucson, AZ, Randy (Donna) Wiegert of Deerbrook, and Robert (Wendy) Wiegert of Antigo; sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives, many lifelong friends and his cross-eyed cat, Heathcliff.

In honor of Rich's 60th Birthday, a celebration of life will be held on Sunday, February 26 from 2 to 7 p.m. at Northstar Lanes in Antigo.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.

"I haven't seen Rich in quite a while, what I remember the most was that he loved his family and friends and was protective of those close to him, especially his younger brothers and their friends who I was one. The basement of the Weigert house would suddenly erupt in loud laughter and chaos when Rich would come home and find us there, and it would inevitably evolve into many wrestling matches. He was a big influence on me as a teenager and he will not be forgotten. Give my love to the family please. "
