Lauri was born on April 19, 1964, in Muscatine, the daughter of Lysle William and Mariann Riley Hepker. She married Randy Kilby on May 16, 2008, in Davenport.
Lauri was fierce in all things. Her entire life was filled with action; being an avid volleyball and softball player, with a highly competitive and strong-willed spirit. She loved to play darts and pool as well. Following in her dad's footsteps, she became a journeyman electrician who absolutely loved and was devoted to her work. When you saw Lauri, she was wearing her fancy jeans, and her t-shirts always matched her shoes and hats. Lauri was a person who made fast friends with all, a social butterfly who would always go to bat for the person who could not do it for themselves. She demonstrated a strong sense of ethical and honorable characteristics in her daily life. Above all else, Lauri adored and loved her family. Her children have countless memories of her always loving and supporting them, her special midnight cereal snacks, and being so fun even to the point of embarrassing at times, definitely in a playful way. Her grandchildren will forever remember the endless slumber parties at her house and an unmatched dedication to spending time with them. Her positive outlook was obvious in all she did and was infectious to others. Lauri will be remembered for always making others feel loved, important, and especially happy. To be loved by Lauri, you were certainly loved hard.

She is survived by her husband; mother, Mariann Bunch and stepfather, Jim, and stepmother, Judy Hepker; children, Brandon Van Blarcom of South Carolina, Ashley Van Blarcom of Wilton, Matthew Van Blarcom of Colorado, Sgt. Heather Davis, based in Florida with the USAF, and Chelsey Redmond of Davenport; grandchildren, Aiden, Hailey, Daniel, Dylan, Isabelle, Grace, Sophie, Lexie, Emilia, Jordan Jr., Rylee, Carlee, Kinzlee, Elizabeth, Zack, Ally, Zak, Ainslee, Ellie, and Henry; siblings, Christine Knock of Ankeny, Annette Coons of Muscatine, Laura Kramer of Muscatine, Jennifer Fridley of Muscatine, Kimberly Schmidt of Texas, and Shelley Meyer of Muscatine, and Chad Hepker of Arizona; stepbrothers, Jay Bunch of Texas, Darrell Bunch of Arizona, Jimmy Bunch of Texas, and Dennis Bunch of Arizona; along with several other family members, including her special cousins, Steve and Sheena Krueger of Letts.

Lauri was preceded in death by her father in 2010; and her stepbrother, Michael Bunch.
