In loving memory of

David "Duke" Holdsworth
November 2, 1950 - January 10, 2023

David "Duke" Holdsworth, 72, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2023, after a short battle with cancer while visiting family in Florida. He was a well-known musician, photographer, artist, environmentalist, mechanic, and a "jack of all trades, and then some." Our lives were all enriched by his unique way of looking at the world and by his willingness to help anyone at any time.

He is survived by parents Ronald and Betty Holdsworth and brother Rick (Cher) Holdsworth both of Sarasota, Florida, as well as his nieces Julie (Bryan) Harper and Kathy (Drew) Miller, nephew John (Shelby) Holdsworth, and 6 great nieces and nephews.
He also leaves behind a legion of devoted friends and followers.

Duke was a 1968 graduate of Vestal Sr. High School and proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He retired from NYSEG after working for 25 years as a plant mechanic at Goudey Station.

A private service will be held for family in Florida and a "Slideways" celebration of Duke's life is planned for this summer in New York. To honor his love of nature, please consider planting something in Duke's memory. Tributes may be posted to his Facebook page.
