Janet Mary (Hylen) Grant, 79 passed away on Sunday January 15, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was born in Muskegon Michigan on February 3, 1943 to James and Dorothy (Dahlstrand) Hylen and married William Grant on August 29, 1964. They shared 58 years of devoted love. Jan was a 1960 graduate of Muskegon High School and lifelong fan of Big Red Football. She was a member of Samuel Lutheran Church growing up and later attended First Congregational Church. She continued her education at Muskegon Community College and Western Michigan University leading to a career as a medical technologist at Hackley Hospital. Late in life she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Hope College. Jan was an artist, seamstress, crafter and devoted to her family. She was passionate about expressing herself and filled her home with her art. She enjoyed winters in Rockport, Texas with dear friends Wayne and Kathy. Raising her children kept her active with Mona Shores Band Parents, Girl Scouts, PTA and Hile Little League. Jan enjoyed times at their cottage in Twin Lake raising the children on the water and traveling. She was an active volunteer in the greater Muskegon community. There was not a holiday event that was not surrounded with her family and cribbage! She was a passionate and beloved wife,daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grand-mother, and aunt.

Husband, Bill Grant; 2 Siblings , Jim (Judy) Hylen, Julie Hylen-Nash; 4 children: Sue (Mike) Henry, Jennifer Jones, Scott (Linda) Grant, Jeff (Christy) Grant; 8 grandchildren: Andrea Henry, Tara Henry, Stephan (Heather) Jones, Brandon (April) Jones, Ethan (Alexandria) Jones, Amy Grant, Megan Grant, Dakota Grant; 4 great- grandchildren: Lily Jones, Sawyer Jones, Grant Jones, Cooper Jones; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins; 2 beloved dogs Tessa and Raja. She was preceded in death by her parents.

SERVICE
Saturday, January 21, 2023, 4:00 PM at Clock Chapel - Muskegon.

VISITATION
Friday, January 20, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM & Saturday January 21, 2023 from 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM at Clock Funeral Home - Muskegon. MEMORIAL: Donations can be made in her name at Noah's Project to support her love of animals .
