MUSCATINE, Iowa - Everett L. Clester, 81, of Muscatine, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2023, at Premier Estates of Muscatine.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 23, 2023, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to ProMedica Hospice or the Dementia Society of America, in honor of Everett. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.
Everett was born on May 25, 1941, in Clarinda, Iowa, the son of Lester Leo and Velma Mae Nichols Clester. He married Connie J. Snyder Burke on December 30, 1993, in Miami, Oklahoma.
Everett worked at Sulzberger Excavating for 46 years before retiring. He enjoyed his work. Everett was a union member for 55 years. He loved to fish and hunt.
He is survived by his wife, Connie J. Clester; three sons, Scott Clester and his wife, Philipa, Travis Clester and his wife, Margie, and Steven Holiday; two daughters, Jana Metzger and her husband, Keith, and Mandy Beeding and her husband, Jordie; stepchildren, Robert Burke III and Lauri Ford; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; two brothers, Ernest 'Ernie' Clester and Gary Clester; one sister, Debbie Fetters and her husband, Dave; and several nieces and nephews.
Everett was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Mashell Ann Ridinger; and one sister, Linda Rhodes.
