David G. Schroeder, of Antigo, died on January 26, 2023. He was 73 years old. He was born on October 16, 1949 in Oconto Falls, a son of the late Gerhard and Carol (Birr) Schroeder. He married Cynthia Meverden on June 26, 1971 in Oconto Falls. She preceded him in death on August 15, 2016.
He was a graduate of Oconto Falls High School, class of 1968 and graduated from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa in 1971. David was an accountant and in 1996 he and Cynthia founded Schroeder Enterprises operating and providing carnival games to community events and fairs throughout Wisconsin.
David and his family spent time living in Chicago, Appleton, Wausau and Denver before moving to Antigo in 1992. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church. He and his wife enjoyed dancing and were members of the Antigo Gateway Squares dance club.
He was an avid reader and enjoyed rooting for the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers and Wisconsin Badgers. He loved to spend time with his family, including going to his grandchildren's sport events and music concerts.
Survivors include three daughters, Amanda (Michael) Rohmeyer of Antigo, Cora Schroeder of Rockford, Ill., and Kristina Stickney of Wittenberg; six sons, Matthew (Wendy) Schroeder of Sparta, Michael Schroeder of Wausau, Stephen Schroeder of Wausau, Andrew Schroeder of Sterling, Colo., William Schroeder (Tamila Nurmatova) of Madison, and Timothy (Christopher) Schroeder of West St. Paul, Minn.; 17 grandchildren, Colten, Corey, Anna, Rebecca, Eryka, Amelia, David, Gunther, Veronica, Genevieve, Alexandria, Nathan, Olivia, Dean, Draven, Addysn, and Anthony; two honorary grandchildren, Tabitha and Phillip; three great-grandchildren, Damian, Mateo and Cynthia; girlfriend, Nancy Dilegge of Boyd; two sisters, Nancy (Dave) Lueptow of Morgan, Karen (Dave) Shepherd of Social Circle, Ga; a brother, Gary (Mary) Schroeder of Morgan; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
A memorial service will be held on February 4, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church with Vicar Jennifer Sosinski officiating. Burial will take place in Morgan Cemetery in Oconto Falls in the spring. Visitation will be held on Saturday at church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

"I have fond memories of family gatherings when we were kids. As a cousin, we had good times playing ball games and such, and though we didn't stay in touch really at all it is sad that he is gone.
