MUSCATINE, Iowa - Charles Henry Jamison, 78, of Muscatine, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at the VA Hospital in Iowa City.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at the Salvation Army, 1000 Oregon Street, Muscatine, Iowa. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is assisting the family with their arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Muscatine Humane Society in Charles's honor. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at the Salvation Army. Military services will be conducted by the Honor Guard of Muscatine City Inc. at 3:45 p.m. with refreshments and beverages to follow at the Salvation Army.

Charles was born on September 15, 1944, in Muscatine, the son of Clarence J. and Florence Lucille Nash Jamison. He married the love of his life, Susan K. Packwood, on January 14, 1967, at First Baptist Church.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Vietnam Conflict from 1961 to 1965.

Charles lived his life in light of the gospel of Jesus Christ. He enjoyed animals, riding motorcycles, his tractors, and listening to gospel, country, and blue grass music. Charles was always there to help people. He had a passion for animals and was always rescuing stray cats and dogs. Charles was so proud of his family and loved spending time with his wife and family.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Jamison; three daughters, Karen Meyer and her husband, Matt, Cathy Miller and her husband, Jim, Mary Hopkins, and her husband, Jamie, all of Muscatine; 12 grandchildren, Ashley, Erin, David, Jonathan, Tyler, Nathan, David, Baron, Isabella (Nick), Fletcher, Cooper, and Addison; 2 great grandchildren, Claire and Jett; three siblings, Clarence Jamison of Wilton, Carl Jamison and his wife, Carol, of Moline, and Carolyn Wagner of Muscatine; and a sister-in-law, Sally Spaulding and her husband, Larry, of Des Moines.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Charles Henry Jamison Jr., two grandchildren, Abigail and Raymond; and two sisters, Connie Dieckman and Cheryl Taylor.
