LaVerne Hohensee
June 16, 1924 - February 5, 2023

LaVerne Hohensee, of Antigo, died on February 5, 2023, at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center. She was 98 years old. She was born on June 16, 1924, in Antigo, a daughter of Carl and Clara (Brich) Hoerman. She married Barney Hohensee on June 21, 1947. He preceded her in death on October 27, 1998.

LaVerne lived in Milwaukee for many years and returned to Antigo when Barney retired. She was a member of the Leland Tollefson Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Unit 2653.

LaVerne enjoyed bowling, golfing, baseball, sewing, and going to the casino. She will be remembered as a strong and independent woman, the heart and soul of her family.

Survivors include a son, David (Christina) Hohensee of Burlington; a daughter, Linda (Dale) Peterson of Greenfield; five grandchildren, Mark (Renee) Hohensee, Amy Hohensee, Jeffrey (Kimberly) Hohensee, Eric Peterson, and Clayton (Brittany) Bruss; four great-grandchildren, Jessica, Nick, Sophia, and Scarlett,; two sisters, Phyllis Bula of Antigo and Marie Gesell of Antigo; and two brothers, Robert (Ann) Hoerman of Antigo and Carl (Eleanor) Hoerman Jr. of Antigo.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Edward, Ben, Richard, Eugene, and Dale; and sisters, Doris Schumitsch and Marilyn Stengl.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 4 at 4 p.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home with Reverend Charles Hoffmann officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, March 4 at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m.
