Raymond "Dennis" Hovey
February 3, 1953 - February 11, 2023

Raymond D. "Dennis" Hovey, 70 of Byron, MN died Saturday, February 11, 2023 at his home with his family by his side.

Dennis served in the United States Army and was then united in marriage to Nancy Aleckson on July 9, 1977. The couple made their home in Byron. Dennis worked many years as a league director at D&R Star.

Dennis was proud of his "stamina, endurance, and dignity in his on-going journey of sobriety." He was a good friend to many and a positive force to all who knew him.
Dennis is survived by his wife Nancy, children Josh (Jess Behnken) Hovey of Rochester, Holly (Jamie Davidson) Hovey of Byron, and Jorden (Angelie) Hovey of Stewartville, he is also survived by three grandchildren Jace, Hazley, and Flynn, his father Daryl (Ruby) Hovey of Sebring, FL, and his brother Dude (Lydia) Hovey of Live Oak, CA.

He was preceded in death by his mother Billie, brother Mitchell, and grandson Jack Raymond.

A Celebration of Life service will be held from 4-7 PM on Friday, February 17, 2023 at Ranfranz and Vine Remembrance and Reception Center (5482 Royal Pl NW, Rochester, MN). Interment with honors will be at Byron Cemetery at a later date.
