In loving memory of

David Lee Zinser
April 21, 1951 - February 13, 2023

David Lee Zinser, 71, of Pine Island, MN passed away on February 13, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

David was born April 21, 1951 in Minneapolis, MN the son of Kenneth and Shirley (Schneider) Zinser. He was a 1969 graduate of Mayo High School in Rochester, MN. He was united in marriage to Linda Pool on November 11, 1972 in Rochester, MN. David and Linda started their family in Rochester, MN before relocating to Mazeppa, a town they called home for over 15 years. After a brief move to California, they returned to their roots and resettled in Pine Island to be close to their children and grandchildren. In his younger years, David owned a painting business before transitioning into the computer industry with Western Digital and eventually retired from work in 2011. In 2014 he was the recipient of a new heart after his health declined.

David enjoyed camping and fishing with his family, as well as photography. He was a baseball fan and avid reader. Prior to his initial health issues, he was a volunteer firefighter, first responder and secretary for the Mazeppa Fire Department. Most who knew David would recall him as quiet, reserved and calm. Those close to him, however, grew to expect his sarcastic wit and loving dedication to his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Linda Zinser of Pine Island, MN; children, Brad (Joanne) Zinser of Mazeppa, MN, Megan (Mike) Nelson of Waconia, MN, Elizabeth (Jason) Lohmann of Zumbrota, MN; 11 grandchildren, Laura, Katy, Janelle, Myles, Dayanara, Aliha, Cole, Patrick, Tristan, Jamie, and Harper; siblings, Cheri (Warren) Kramer of North Port, FL, Sandy (Curt) Hendrickson of New Richland, MN, Mary Ann (Terry) Djonne of Rochester, MN and Mike (Barb) Zinser of Rochester, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Shirley Zinser and his brother, James Zinser.

"He was a great uncle! Uncle Dave was always great to be around. I remember him holding me up in the water and coaching me to keep my legs straight while teaching me to water ski on Lake Pepin as a kid. I always looked forward to seeing him at family functions. He was a safe place for me! Always! And man... he could water ski slalom like no other! I hope your skiing on the clouds uncle. I hope to see you again someday! Pete "
