In loving memory of

Brian Anthony Fraser
October 18, 2002 - February 13, 2023

Brian Anthony Fraser, age 20, died on Monday, February 13, 2023. He was born on October 18, 2002, in Detroit, Michigan to Sean and Mary "Mia" (nee: Tiberio) Fraser.

Brian grew up in Grosse Pointe Park and attended St. Paul on the Lake Catholic School and Grosse Pointe South High School. He was currently a sophomore studying Business at Michigan State University and served as President of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity.

Growing up, Brian played numerous sports which he loved. He enjoyed not only the sports themselves but even more his teammates and team comradery. This year would have marked the sixth year of him being a lifeguard at CCD. Brian was a recognized leader and very active within his communities. He could never have too many irons in the fire.

Brian lived his life full of love. He was compassionate, caring and well rounded. Brian enjoyed laughing and having fun with family and friends. He was part of a large extended family and loved to be around everyone whether it was at holiday celebrations, casual gatherings or vacations. Brian was a wonderful son and brother. He had many friends and cherished time spent with them. Brian will not only be remembered for his infectious smile and beautiful blue eyes, but also for enjoying his life in the way all young people should. Brian embraced life and had so much to offer. He will be sorely missed by all those he touched.

Brian is the beloved son of Sean and Mary "Mia". Dear brother of Micaela. Adored grandson of Marianna and the late Francesco Tiberio and Gerry and Maureen Fraser. Cherished godson of Neil (Renee) Fraser. Dear nephew of Felicia (Joe) Tiberia, Frank (Felicetta) Tiberio, Sheelah Fraser, Megan (Kevin) McLoughlin, Liam (Liza) Fraser, the late Anthony Tiberio and the late Kevin Fraser. Brian is also survived by a host of loving cousins, great aunts, and an endless number of devoted friends.

Visitation will take place on Friday, February 17, 2023, from 3 pm to 8 pm at Chas. Verheyden, Inc., 16300 Mack Ave., Grosse Pointe Park. He will lie instate on Saturday, February 18, from 9:30 am until the time of his Funeral Mass at 11 am at St. Paul on the Lake Catholic Church, 157 Lake Shore Road, Grosse Pointe Farms. The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Brian's name can be made to Children's Hospital of Michigan at www.yourchildrensfoundation.org or the Capuchin Soup Kitchen, www.cskdetroit.org/online-donations

"Dearest Fraser Family, you do not know us and we did not know Brian, but we are mourning him, along with the rest of the Spartan community. We cannot imagine the grief and heartbreak you have experienced over the past week and it is our hope that your sorrow will ease over time. Over the past week, we have heard about how much of a fun, caring and brilliant young man he was. How he was a great leader, friend, son and brother. His passing has hit us hard. Our son graduated last May from MSU and it has brought this tragedy close to home and made us reflect on how fragile life can be. We have set flowers in memory of Brian, Alexandria and Arielle at the Sparty statue and have paid our respects to the memorial at ?The Rock?. We hope that God?s grace will shine upon your family and grant you peace and comfort during this most difficult time. Please remember that this is but a short separation and that you will be reunited with your precious son one day in heaven. With deepest sympathy and compassion, Peter & Melissa DeRoche and family, Lansing MI"

"I am speechless on what to say. My condolences to the family. I have friends that know Brian and all have stated that he was a remarkable man. Personally, I am a graduate of MSU and a former resident of the state of Michigan. Once I heard of the incident, I became sad. heartbroken. angry. I did watch the funeral on Livestream and cried throughout. I was in Italy when the shooting happened and my phone lit up - I have not had a good night sleep since. One for the first things I did was to light a candle in Florence Italy at the Duomo. It was the least I could do. Again, my condolences."

"Dear Fraser family, The tragic loss of your son and brother has been felt all over the world. The Jakway neighborhood in Benton Harbor was a wonderful place to raise a family and Lake Michigan Catholic school system was a great place to accomplish educational goals, play sports, and make friends. That is where my children -- Stephanie, Rachel, and Joshua Zeller -- shared many years and memories with your younger brother, Liam, and sisters, Megan and Sheela. The Fraser family was as solid as they come. Maureen and Gerry were great parents and I still remember sharing the cry room at St. Bernard's with your folks and a pool party at your house following the girls 7-10 year old girls softball team winning season. It's no wonder that Brian was such a wonderful son and family member. He had great role models and inspired by you to enjoy every day and make a difference in this world. Our hearts ache for your loss and his shining star is now a part of our heavenly skies. We pray that God holds all of you and your extended family in his Holy arms and grants you peace and comfort during this difficult time. I feel lucky to have taught and known Brian at SPCS during his 7th & 8th-grade years. I will forever remember him as a fantastic student and friend to all. He made all of our days brighter through his generosity, harmless pranks, and contagious smile. Brian was so kind, smart, loving, hard-working, and a natural-born leader. I remember him often offering to help clean up after class activities & field trips, checking in on me when I seemed stressed to ask what I could use help with, and always leading others by example. I was fortunate enough to keep in touch with Brian after his 8th-grade year and it was no surprise to watch him grow up to be a positive role model to others at MSU. Brian was taken from us all much too soon. He has made such an impact on me and so many others around him. I am honored to know Brian and will forever remember him.
