In loving memory of

Nathan James Bentley
July 4, 1986 - February 8, 2023

Nathan (Nate) Bentley, age 36, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, February 8, 2023.
Nathan grew up in Allenton, Michigan and went to school in Almont. He was full of energy and was always smiling. Growing up in the country, he loved being outdoors, climbing the trees and building forts. He planted gardens and trees. One of his first jobs was working for a tree nursery, helping the elderly owner maintain her business.
He was very independent and never afraid to go on an adventure and have fun. His first day of pre-school he had no desire for mom to hang around. He had this and it was Ok for mom to go on about her day. He led his whole life that way. During a family canoe trip, he hopped in the canoe and took off before anyone else, just to hang out around the bend for a "sneak attack."
Nathan loved animals. He always had dogs and cats around for companionship. Once he even started a business with a friend working with pythons. His pride and joy though, was Rex, a Rottweiler/Shepherd that he got as a puppy and nurtured and took care of. They were best friends. Nothing was too good for Rex.
Nathan was a people person. He didn't like crowds, but he loved to socialize and be one on one with people. He loved to have philosophical conversations about a variety of subjects. One was Christianity. He read the Bible and tried to understand its virtue.
Nathan was a loving, caring individual who would help anyone even as he needed help himself. He would give you his last dollar if you needed it. His heart was as big as his smile.
He leaves behind his parents, Richard and Scarlet Bentley, his sister, Amanda Warner (Douglas), his brother, Christopher Bentley (Taylor), and his grandmothers, Darlene Osbourn and Gail Osbourn; aunts and uncles - Butch and Judie Weingartz, Mary Bentley, Linda Stoll, Kitty Storey (Jeff), Duane Osbourn, and Jackie Osbourn; cousins - Jenny Weingartz, Nick Weingartz (Stephanie), Jeremy Bentley (Stefanie) Shauna Bentley, Taylor Traub (Joe), Jessica Storey and Rachael Osbourn; Many friends including special friends: Cynthia Lincoln, Tom Riley, Candice Dunaway and Kim Cimbala. Nathan is preceded in death by his grandparents Richard and Virginia Bentley and James Osbourn, his uncles, Jim Bentley and Bernie Stoll and his cousin, Tony Weingartz.
