MUSCATINE, Iowa - Robert O. Dillbeck, 91, of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Roseville Rehabilitation and Health Care.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m., on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the local Special Olympics.

A Masonic Service will be held at 10:50 a.m. and a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Honor Guard of Muscatine City Inc. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Robert was born on May 10, 1931, in Mercer County, Illinois, the son of Troy O. and Martha B. Bethell Dillbeck. He later married Patsy A. Lane Windus McGourty on May 28, 1988, in Muscatine. She preceded him in death on January 4, 2016.

Robert was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War. He was the Post Commander of the American Legion in Alexis, Illinois, and a member of the V.F.W. of Aledo, Post #1571. He was nominated as 'Veteran of the Week' at the Muscatine American Legion.

He was a truck driver for 27 ½ years with Roadway Express and enjoyed playing golfing and bowling. He also enjoyed driving the bowling bus for the high school kids to the bowling alley.

He is survived by his children, Bobbi A. Porter of San Tan Valley, Arizona, and Brian Dillbeck and wife, Deb, of Alexis, Illinois; Patsy's children, Kenneth Windus of Muscatine, Randy Windus of Atalissa, Kristine A. Bennett of Davenport, Pamela Stegner and husband, Jerry, of Davenport, and Michael McGourty of Muscatine; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Patsy; three brothers; one sister; and grandson, Bradley McGourty in 2013.
