Lynn Trudell Bloy
September 11, 1935 - February 27, 2023

A memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2023, at Christ Church Grosse Pointe (61 Grosse Pointe Blvd.), for Lynn Trudell Bloy of Grosse Pointe Farms. Lynn passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023, at Ascension St. John Hospital in Detroit. She was 87.

The daughter of James and Virginia (Turner) Trudell, Lynn was born September 11, 1935. In 1954, she graduated from the Grosse Pointe Country Day School, and later attended Garland Junior College in Boston. She was married to Frederick Gibson ("Fritz") Bloy for 59 years. Fritz died in 2017.

A lifelong Grosse Pointe Farms resident, Lynn loved her community. She had friends of all ages with many considering her close family. Lynn was always engaged and interested in hearing about the lives of her old friends, their children and their grandchildren.

Lynn had a wonderful sense of humor. She loved color and style. She worked at Miners, a local women's shop and volunteered at Bon Secours Hospital gift shop. She loved children and dogs. Lynn was famous for her delicious chocolate cake and often showed up at friends' houses with her homemade chocolate chip cookies. Lynn and Fritz were members of the Country Club of Detroit and bowled on the Club's league for many years.

She is survived by her close friend and companion Al Johnson, her cousin Kyle Kinsey, nephew Michael B. Bloy, and many other adoring nieces and nephews.

Interment will be immediately following the service in the columbarium at Christ Church. Donations in memory of Lynn Bloy may be made to the Michigan Humane Society (www.michiganhumane.org) or the charity of your choosing.

Maureen Bratto wrote on Mar 20, 2023:

"Lynn was my friend and customer at Roy O?Brien Ford. Sold her many fusions. We had several lunches together both with Fritz and her and I. Tried reaching her since Christmas! I?m sorry she is gone. In God?s hands now. Many prayers for you."

Hayley and Linda Alexander wrote on Mar 16, 2023:

"We met Lynn and her late husband Fritz through our parents, Don and Donna Landers, who were very close friends. Lynn would go out to lunch weekly with the ?girls,? as Donna and Lynn would say, and Lynn would keep in touch with Donna daily with an early morning phone chat to catch up on the latest. The two couples would also get together on a weekly basis for dinners out at the club or a favorite local restaurant. Whenever we were in town, we too would go out to lunch or dinner with them, which is when we got to know Lynn and Fritz. Lynn would routinely pop by our parents? house with her chocolate chips cookies and call daily to see what was on the agenda during our visit. We have to say, she did make the best chocolate chip cookies. After the passing of Donna and Don, we continued our friendship with Lynn and became closer to her. Whenever we were in town thereafter, we made sure to visit her since she was such a lovely person and full of energy. About four years ago, when visiting Lynn, we met her partner Al who seemed to be perfect for her (and for her sense of humor). And we continued having lunches and dinners with Lynn and Al during every visit. Lynn was a perennially positive person who always seemed to be smiling. She also had a wonderful sense of style. We sincerely enjoyed being in her company and will greatly miss her. Hayley and Linda Alexander "
