Dolores Curran
April 24, 1928 - March 6, 2023

Dolores Ann Curran, 94, passed away peacefully at her Grosse Pointe home Monday, March 6, 2023, almost one month short of turning 95 on April 24th.

Dolores, or "Doe," as she was known by friends and family, was born April 24, 1928, in Grosse Pointe, to Marcellus and Marie Schiappacasse. She grew up at her home on Harcourt Rd. in Grosse Pointe Park.
She attended St. Ambrose school. There she formed many of her lifelong friendships.

Dolores married Robert Curran in 1953, at St. Ambrose parish. She was the loving mother of seven children. To her thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grand-children, she was affectionately known as
"Doe Doe."

She devoted her life to her husband and children and found strength in her Catholic faith and sense of humor. Her greatest passions were travel, socializing with friends, tending to her flower gardens, entertaining in her home, and always looking lovely and elegant!

Dolores was predeceased by her husband, Robert Curran; and son Robert Curran Jr. She is survived by her children, Tom (Lori), Coleen, Craig, Brian, Cindy Gizzi (Sam ), Richard; and grandchildren, Christina Johnson, Shayla Curran, Keaton Curran, Shannon Mello, Holly Garvin, Eric Turgeon, Shawn Curran, Meagan Curran, Rachel Curran, Alex Curran, Amanda Carroll, Brandon Carroll, Nicole West, Conor Curran; great-grand-children, Morgan, Brody, Riley, Anderson, Anara, Alessya, Kayleigh, Bennett and Rio.
Her family extends their deep appreciation for the loving and compassionate care she received during her last years. Her niece, Marilyn Marchionni; and special friend, Don Morris, both very near and dear to her heart, loved and supported her, wholeheartedly, for many years.

At Dolores' request, a private family gathering was held at Chas. Verheyden funeral home in Grosse Pointe Park.

A funeral will take place on Tuesday, March 14th; Instate 11:30am until the time of Mass 12 Noon at St. Paul on the Lake Catholic Church, 157 Lake Shore Rd., Grosse Pointe Farms.

Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Feel free to share a memory at verheyden.org.
