Dorothy Dicken
March 15, 1946 - March 4, 2023

Dorothy Angela (Higgins) Dicken, 76, of Bellmawr, NJ, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2023.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. She was the daughter of the late Frank E. and Dorothy A. (Master) Higgins. Those left to cherish her memory are her son: William M. (Michelle) Dicken lll ; Holiday, FL; grandson Hayden Lee William of Cherry Hill, NJ; longtime boyfriend Wayne D. Kean of Bellmawr, NJ; aunt Claire Bauman; Cherry Hill, NJ; brother James J. (Phyllis) Higgins; Wayne, PA; brother Edward J. Higgins; Pompano Beach, FL; brother Paco (Tana) Higgins, Jr.; Sacramento, CA; sister Georgeanne (Steve) Chorzelewski; Winchester, VA; brother Martin P. Higgins; Cape Coral, FL; brother Robert G. (Jill) Higgins; Elmer, NJ; brother William R. (Beth) Higgins; Monroeville, NJ; sister Theresa M. Bouton; Chapel Hill, NC; in addition she is survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Dorothy, affectionately known as Dotty, was born on March 15, 1946. She was raised in Haddon Heights, NJ and graduated from Saint Joseph's High School, Camden, NJ in 1964. She worked in the secretarial field prior to the birth of her son. While growing up, she enjoyed spending time at the Higgins family home in Ocean City. Always a beauty, she was a finalist in the Miss Camden County Beauty Pageant. On your birthday, you could always count on receiving a card from Dotty without fail. She was a devout Catholic and participated in many church activities, including being a soprano in one of many church choirs. In her early years she was a member of the Sacred Heart Church, in Mount Ephraim, NJ. In her later years, she attended Annunciation Parish now known as Saint Joachim Parish in Bellmawr, NJ.

There will be a viewing from 1pm to 3pm Sunday, March 19, 2023 at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE.

Celebration of Life Service will be 3pm at the funeral home.

Interment will be private at the request of the family.
