In loving memory of

Alan Charles Sheil
January 13, 1954 - February 26, 2023

~HEAVEN RECEIVED ANOTHER ANGEL~

It is with deep sadness that the Sheil family announce the death of Alan Charles Sheil. Alan passed away peacefully on February 26, 2023, at Agrace Hospice Center in Fitchburg, with his loving children nearby his side. He was 69 years old.

Alan leaves behind a heart broken family including his mother Janet, siblings Greg and Lynn, children Jesse and Jaimi; their mother Jean, and nieces; Jenny and Amelia. Al was passionate about his entire family and always looked forward to gatherings with them. He was preceded in death by his father Jack and his daughter, Heidi.

Alan was born on January 13, 1954, in Madison WI to Jack and Janet Sheil. He married Jean (Knapton) Sheil. They had three children: Jesse, Jaimi-Nicole, and Heidi. Al was an amazing father to his children, he found no greater pride than in their lives and accomplishments. Both Jesse and Jaimi considered him their best friend.

In addition to the pride Al found in his children, he also found great fulfillment in the work he did over his life. Al followed in his father in the dairy business working for Bowman/Bancroft Dairy. He continued in this business with his brother, Greg and created YO-Fruit, a frozen yogurt dessert. Al ultimately went on to work for, and retired from, the State of Wisconsin. It was at this job where he found the most professional success as well as being an exceptional mentor.

Al was an avid sports fan, and he enjoyed many Wisconsin Team sports; however, his true love was for the game of fast pitch softball, where he pitched like no other. It was on the softball diamonds where he made many lasting friendships with his teammates. He spent many years after softball, teaching others his "craft" and coaching at Sacred Hearts School in Sun Prairie. Besides softball, Al had a great love for golf spending many happy days at Madison area courses.

Alan's legacy without a doubt will be the everlasting relationships he had with his loving friends and the knack to be able to light up a room with his infectious smile and sense of humor. His impact on the lives of everyone who knew him will never be forgotten. He was a winner all around.

*A special thank you goes out to all the Agrace Hospice employees that took exceptional care of Alan. Additionally, his "teammates for life" Scott and Beth Feiner, Bob Cobb and the Veith families; as well as other friends who reached out. Finally, thank you to those who were with Al in his final days: Ed, Tim, Phil, Kristen, Carmen, Seva and Jessica.
