Gerald "Gus" Linn, 88, of Boone, IA. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 15, 2023 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.

Gus was born on September 19, 1934, in Lehigh, IA to Luther and Ophelia (Curtis) Linn. He was one of 7 children. He grew up and attended school in the Lehigh area and graduated from high school there in 1953.

On October 17, 1954, Gus was united in marriage to the love of his life; Phyllis Knopf, in Dayton, IA. They were blessed with 4 children: Michael, Timothy, Susanne and Kristi. They lived in the Boone area, where Gus was a carpenter and also worked maintenance for the Boone School District.

In his free time Gus enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a member of the local hunt & fish club. He was a huge fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs, and Minnesota Vikings.

He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years: Phyllis of Boone; children: Mike (Lee) Linn of Boone, Timothy (Cindy) Linn of Ankeny, Susanne (Jim) Dawkins of Boone and Kris (Daryl) Angaran of Boone; grandchildren: David (Kelli) Linn, Perry, Heather (Gabe) Bishop, Davenport, Amber (Tony) Moore, Perry, Jessica Linn (Fort Madison), Cassandra Linn (Mason City), Adam Linn, Huxley, Jamie Dawkins, Boone, Debra (Brandon) Kusel, DSM, Ashley Angaran, Perry. Great Grandchildren: Philip & Andrew Linn (Maine), Nick & Alex Frakes (Perry), Chace, Clayton, & Gabriel Bishop (Davenport), Zane Linn (Perry), Aedan Moore & Brynna Moore (Perry), Dravon & Deagon Hauck (Fort Madison), Emma Linn (Mason City), Kolleen & Mia Randolph (Boone), Kaydience Watkins (DSM), Lani Houston (Ames), Skyler Houston (Sheldahl), Skyler Hunt (Polk City) and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Wayne Linn, Bill Linn, and Dean Linn; sisters: Betty Wickwire, Elsie Jamison and Pearl Long. Great Grandson: Harley Moore

A Celebration of Life will be held later this year at the Hunt & Fish Club. Memorial donations may be directed to the family.
