"Uncle Floyd was a great influence in my life when I was a kid. I remember him being larger than life. He took me for my first motorcycle ride, that small justure has I sparked a life long journey for me, I have been riding and repairing motorcycles, Ever sence!! Our next life changing event was a trip to the movie theater....STAR WARS......It left a another life long impression, SCI FI!! To this day my journey into space continues. Then there was the TRIP to see Floyd when he was in the Army. For a little guy, he was larger than life, Years later I would find myself at the Airforce Recruiting office. I believe the experiences we have in life, come from special people...Floyd was one of these. He will always be with us!"

"I was the first caregiver for Floyd from Alliance Home Health Care in Muskegon. I was privileged to help him in his home AND when he moved to his senior living apartment complex I was able to keep helping him there too. What an INCREDIBLE friendship we developed! We did a LOT of laughing and talking while I helped him in his home or apartment! We loved to go get an ice cream cone together and would sit at the beach and watch wind surfers and seagulls carry off the little bit of cone he would throw out the window for them! My husband works the chain gang for the Muskegon Big Reds and would give Floyd and his son Cameron his extra football tickets so they could attend the games together! My husband always enjoyed seeing him at the games and chatting with him too! I count it a distinct privilege to have known this VERY SWEET AND LOVEABLE man whom I will miss GREATLY!!! Love and prayers to Cameron and Heather and the rest of the family as you grieve for him! Love, Lori Shaffer"
