WILLIAM "BILL" ALBRIGHT
MUSCATINE, Iowa - William "Bill" Albright, 78, of Muscatine, passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at his home.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.wittichfuneralhome.com.
Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to his family in his honor.
Bill was born on July 9, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Richard Sr and Maxine Andrews Albright. He married Kathy Lynn Albright on June 27, 1970, at Community of Christ of Muscatine.
Bill was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He played semi-pro football in Europe. He was a graduate of Muscatine High School of 1962 and attended the University of Iowa. Bill worked many years for United Laboratories as a chemical salesman. He was a member of the Community Christ Church. He also enjoyed going to the casino with his sons and daughter-in-law. He loved his beloved dog, Lily.
He volunteered at the YMCA for decades as a youth leader while in college where he also was a coach and referee for many sporting events. He enjoyed playing noontime basketball and swimming laps at the YMCA and relaxing in the steam room. He was an avid White Sox, Iowa Hawkeye, and Chicago Bears fan.
He is survived by his sons, Christopher 'Chris' Albright and wife, Kim, of Muscatine, Shawn Albright and his son, Ivan, of North Liberty, and Matthew Albright and his wife, Tammy, of Muscatine; his beloved Lily; and several nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy; his parents; two brothers, Richard Albright Jr. and Ronald Albright; sister-in-law, Charlene Albright.
