"Jim was a great mentor and friend to me during our days and years together at Piper Jaffray. He was always very kind and patient and always smiling and laughing. He truly made my time at Piper with him memorable and fun,. Much of his wisdom that he provided me I still use today in my daily life, but most of all I will always remember Jim as being a good friend. Jim will be missed by many, and his memory will last forever as a great bond salesperson and partner. He nicknamed me early in my career Doogie, a name that still follows me in my career and each time I hear it I am reminder of Jim and our wonderful days together at Piper. We will all miss you Jim! -Brad Winges"

"Being Jim's cousin and living next door to him I remember walking to our grade school together sometimes. He always kidded me about being the same age as he was for 3 months of the year until his birthday would make him a year older. Then as teenagers we lived walking distance from each other also. He was godfather to my son Jeff and we stayed in touch through the years even living far apart. We had a great "reunion" in Eau Claire with a lunch with those from his family and mine and sitting next to him and getting to talk in person was a special memory to have always. Love to you Jim"
