Benjamin W. Reeves, III, Age 84. Born Sept. 10, 1938, passed away on April 8, 2023. From Merchantville, NJ. He was predeceased by his parents Benjamin, Jr and Dorothy (nee Dyer). Loving Husband of 62 years of the late Mary (nee Soltys). Devoted father of Benjamin, IV (Cindy), Linda (Don), and Judi (Jamie). Cherished brother of Nellie Marks and Larry. Adored Pop Pop of 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was loved by many nieces and nephews and known as "Uncle Rick."
He was a graduate of Merchantville High School class of 1956, where he was captain of the Basketball and Baseball team. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates that same year. He played many years for GEX and was an umpire for 25 years. He was inducted into the SJ Fast Pitch Hall of Fame in 1989. For 15 years he owned Pennsauken Exxon and retired from RCA after 40 years of service.
Most of all he loved his Wildwood Crest House, going to the beach and sitting on his front porch.
There will be a viewing Tuesday evening April 18, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE. Funeral service 730 pm at the funeral home. Interment private.
