In loving memory of

Mark Greggory Albert
June 9, 1958 - April 13, 2023

Mark G. Albert, 64, of Rochester, MN passed away on Hospice Care Thursday, April 13, 2023 at his residence after a long courageous battle with mental health and on-going physical conditions.

Mark Greggory Albert was born on June 9, 1958 in Caribou, Maine to parents Herbert and Jeannine (Moran) Albert. When Mark was growing up, his parents separated and he moved with his mother, stepfather, and siblings to Brazil where he had many wonderful memories. He later came back to live with his father here in the United States, where his family eventually all reunited. In his 20's, Mark began working in the oil fields in Evanston, Wyoming, where he developed his desire to work hard. Mark also worked for Ability Building Community (ABC) from 2011 to 2017 when he retired. Mark moved to an Adapta group home in 2013, where he made many friends that consider him family. Mark never married or had kids, but instead lived a very adventurous life.

Mark was known for being very kind. Even though his mind was unkind to him, he never let it interfere with how he treated others. He remained hopeful and peaceful throughout his life. Some of his hobbies included listening to 80's rock music, listening to his radio speakers, playing with animals, especially cats, and smoking on the patio. He loved his instant coffee, chili dogs and McDonalds cheeseburgers and fries. In his earlier years, Mark enjoyed walking in the ocean and spending time at the beach. Wherever Mark was, he loved sunshine!

Mark is survived by his brother, Jay Albert, of Rochester, MN; sister, Teri Fox of Salt Lake City, Utah; brothers Steve and Kris Albert of Evanston, Wyoming; half-brother, Shane Carr, Washington State; and his Adapta family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Jeannine.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Monday, April 24, 2023 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes (5421 Royal Pl. NW, Rochester, MN 55901) with St. Croix Hospice Chaplain Anthony Deach officiating.

"One of my Favorite memories with Mark is the paintings we did. He loves smearing the paint around with his hands not knowing what the outcome of the painting would be?"
