William "Bill" Liewald
April 6, 1958 - April 20, 2023

William "Bill" Liewald passed away suddenly at his home in North Port, Florida on April 20, 2023.

Bill was born in Oak Park, Illinois to William and Judith Liewald. Bill graduated from Bolingbrook High School and attended college. Bill kept in touch with many of his friends from Bolingbrook over the years. He was extremely close to his brother, Kevin, and farmed with him in Northern Illinois. They were descendants of the original settlers of Warren County, Missouri and farming was in their blood and hearts. The loss of his brother, Kevin, weighed very heavy on Bill's heart all of his life. After farming with his brother, Bill operated his own construction business, Liewald Custom Homes, which included restoring log homes in the Mercer, Wisconsin area. Bill was an extremely talented farmer and contractor. His carpenter skills were unsurpassed. He would often say, "Everyone needs a Bill." In his retirement years, Bill had a collection of over 200 beautiful orchids and often shared pictures of his orchids with his friends. He loved snowmobiling, riding his Harley, kayaking, scuba diving, boating, skiing, bicycle riding, and attending orchid shows.

He leaves behind his 10-year old black Labrador, Misty, whom he loved dearly, and his close friend, Kathy McMillan, who will both miss him very much, along with many friends from Illinois, Wisconsin and Florida.

He was preceded in death by his father, William; mother, Judith; and brother, Kevin.

Bill will remain forever in our hearts and minds. A private ceremony will be held in weeks to come.
