Dolores R. Hughes (nee Gorko), age 87, of Haddon Township, NJ, passed away to be united with Roland "Ray" Hughes, Jr., her beloved husband of over 40 years, on May 28, 2023.
Dolores was born on January 11, 1936 in Sunsbury, PA. She is predeceased by her parents Anthony and Mary Rose (nee Kasula) Gorko and her siblings Bernie, Thomas, and Victoria Gorko. Dolores attended Frankford High School in Philadelphia, PA. She worked at John Wanamaker Department Store in the 1970s as a credit and collection clerk, where she met her husband Ray. Dolores then started work at the Port Authority Transit Corp. in Lindenwold, NJ as a payroll clerk. She worked at PATCO for many years. Dolores had a passion for cruising and traveling, she took at least 2 cruises a year and many trips to the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon in Wellsboro, PA with her husband Ray in the fall. Dolores was also an avid Eagles fan.
There will be a viewing from 10am to 11am on Monday June 5, 2023 at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Vincent Pallotti RC Church, 901 Hopkins Road, Haddon Township, NJ 08033. Funeral Mass 11am at the Church. Interment Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown, NJ.
